Identity Design
Helping our clients create vibrant identities is one of our favorite things that we do. We relish the opportunity to begin working with a client…from the beginning. Here is our typical logo and identity development process:
To begin the process, we like to meet with the person or team within the company who will be responsible for making decisions and giving approval on concepts and proofs throughout the process. We like to find out information about the company such as: primary focus of products or services, competitive context, target market, geographic scope, etc. We will also discuss things like color preferences, any existing ideas for the logo that need to be incorporated as options, type preferences, etc.
After our initial meeting, we come back to the studio and begin the process of generating ideas that will be crafted into concepts for the logo. We present these concepts to the client and discuss our rationale for each one.
After we present concepts to the client, we like to receive feedback from those involved in the decision making process. Based on that feedback, we eliminate and refine the concepts down until we have an approved logo concept.
We typically begin design for the conceptual phase in black and white, then apply color once a direction has been established, we will create and present a few color palette ideas.
Once the color palette has been approved, we design the agreed upon identity materials like letterhead, envelopes, business cards, labels, etc. When the different pieces are approved, we will put them into production and deliver the finished items to your office.
After everything has been approved, we will create the style guide, which will specify approved color, sizing, spacing, font, and other treatments of the logo in production. We will also provide final logo files, in color and B/W, in 8 file formats: JPG, PNG, GIF, PDF, TIF, BMP, PDF and EPS. These files will be supplied on CD and online from our website.
