Match-UPS

In order to play Match-Ups, you must own a minimum of 5 CAMPUS game Tokens.

How to Play

1. Two Ways to Win:
• Score 7 points
• Force the Match-Up Bot to -11 points (because defense wins championships, too)
2. Pick Your Lineup
• To start, choose 5 Tokens to play the game with from your Program
• You can choose up to 5 Offense Tokens or, conversely, up to 3 Defense Tokens
3. Plays
• The Game consists of Plays
• Before every Play, you choose a single Token from your Lineup to play. The shot clock is 7 seconds for you to make this selection — gotta be quick on your feet!
• At the end of 7 seconds, your Token will be played against the CAMPUS opponent. If you don’t choose a Token before the 7 seconds expires, then that’s a shot clock violation and one of your Tokens will be automatically selected for you.
4. CAMPUS Tokens Have 3 Attributes:
• Strategy: Offense or Defense
• Style: Power (Rock), All-Around (Paper), Skill (Scissors)
• Risk: All-In (3), Big Play (2), Small Victory (1)
5. Play Outcomes
• The Player with the dominant Token wins the Play, with two results:
  • If the winner chose Offense, they gain the amount of points designated to their played Token while the losing Player’s score remains the same
  • If the winning Player chose Defense, the losing Player’s score decreases by the highest number associated with either Players’ played Token, while the winning Player’s score remains the same
• Example Play: Offense/Power/All-In earns 3 points when played against an All-Around Token of any strategy/risk.
• Ties: If the Players choose the same Style Token, the tiebreaker is determined by the Risk of the Tokens with priority being given to 1.) Small Victory 2.) Big Play 3.) All-In. This way, players are disincentivized from always choosing ‘All-In’ every time to try to score the most points the fastest. If the tiebreaker fails, the Play is a draw and the Token is not benched for the next Play.
• After each Play, the Token played must be benched for the next 4 Plays.
6. Game Outcomes
• If you win, you get 100 CAMPUS points added to your account!
• If you lose? Well, dust yourself off and try again!
